lost in parchment

I am in love with the following books.

That's what he told me

Happy Earth Hour (starting in 30 min)! My sister has gathered every single candle inside the house and has set them up in the living room. That is what I call Earth Hour Festivities. She even has the candle I made in grade 6 from a can of Campbell's Vegetable Garden soup. Hope you are all doing earthly things today i.e. not throwing a cigarette butt on the ground when there is a garbage can 2 metres away... I witnessed that exact scenario today, by the way.
Other things:
I am a slave to my belly.
My friends are growing up without me.
Sometimes I don't want to read anymore... who am I becoming?

I waste all my time.
I've become socially deprived.
I want coffee cake very bad.

Ivy

Good news! I've been accepted to The University of Toronto!

lookie at that young chap all studious and shnaz
secret garden
old postcard
ivy
a very important tunnel that I bet many very important people have walked through
teenage boys from (circa) 1933 (made up the date, sorry) discussing politics, stocks and Carl Jung (I suspect)
Victoria College taken by a very talented Snuffy (flickr)... Margaret Atwood went here...is that not brilliant!?? motto: studies pass into character
residence building all old and pretty and wintry
hello, wizards
how nice
in English St. Michael's motto means 'piety, music, gymnasics' which I think is both funny and random...gymnastics is vital and to be taken very seriously

***all photos (excluding Snuffy's) taken from the U of T website

There are many other wonderful schools in the province of Ontario but because I'm a big baby I want to live close enough to my family so that I'll be able to return home (sweet home) on weekends. The St. George Campus is very beautiful (photos above). I am to be a student of St. Michael's College because I've yet to be admitted to Victoria College (my personal preference, though St. Mike's is very wonderful indeed). I am excited! So, so much to learn! I want to help so many people and make $$$$$$ so I can travel the world (Fez is waiting for me). (As is Santorini).

There's someone in my head, but it's not me

The lunatic is on the grass
The lunatic is on the grass
Remembering games
And daisy chains and laughs
Got to keep the loonies on the path

The lunatic is in the hall
The lunatics are in my hall
The paper holds their folded faces to the floor
And every day the paper boy brings more

And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

The lunatic is in my head
The lunatic is in my head
You raise the blade
You make the change
You rearrange me 'till I'm sane
You lock the door
And throw away the key
And there's someone in my head, but it's not me
And if the cloud bursts thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

"I can't think of anything to say except... Laughing is nice! HaHaHa!"

17

Today:
Woke up very late
Ate an excellent omelette
Bought an old-fashioned ring at a new boutique in town
Bought pastries at a bakery in town
Drove to get lattes and took pictures at a pretty place a few towns away
Did not write my University essay
Ate a roast beef dinner (delectable)
Drank tea, ate pastries, drank tea
Did not write my University essay
Felt guilty
Did not go to (yet another) social gathering (I dislike the word 'party') as a form of self punishment (not even a bad punishment because I don't have any desire to attend it anyhow)
3:30 AM (next day):
Drank tea
Completed University essay
Time to feel guilty about more things I am not doing

L.L.

I'm currently reading The Virgin Suicides for the first time. Maybe I'm behind everyone else on every single blog site on the Internet, but I don't mind because that's what the Internet is for, right? I'd like to inform you how much I enjoy it. It is one long, rambling tale and I enjoy how you never really know who the narrators are referring to when they call themselves "we" or "us". I'm half-way through. My favourite sister (so far) is Cecelia. I feel as if everyone loves Lux Lisbon best, though. Maybe they don't even love her but want to be her (or at least perceived as she is)---bold, mysterious, sexy, a "stone cold fox", adored by all and yet sad and terribly unfortunate at the same time... This has been just a random thought of mine. More later.

Aslan

There is something I admire about children speaking in British accents. Because I have been fortunate enough to have been given two snow days in a row (and since I have not been procrastinating lately, I've got nothing to catch up on) I've had time to be very lazy. Currently my sister and I are watching the commentary for The Chronicles of Narnia The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe because it is so fantastic listening to the children in the film talk and laugh. I find it very amusing even though commentary-watching is generally a large waste of time. The film is lovely nonetheless and as is C.S. Lewis' famous story. You've seen it before, no doubt, but I hope the following photographs bring you enjoyment of some sort.
